Kvæfjord has many museums portraying different aspects of the local and national history. There are many places in which to enjoy outdoor life and not least the Midnight Sun.
Kvæfjord and its adjacent fjords Austerfjorden and Gullesfjorden offer good fjord fishing year-round. The municipality has large forest and mountain areas with trout and char fishing in lakes, as well as hunting and berry picking. The rich bird and animal life, including the white-tailed eagle, seals and otters, make Kvæfjord a popular venue for both bird watchers.
