Winter activities
The sun is below the horizon from November to January and the days are dark. During the Polar Night, a fantastic polar light brightens the sky, sea and mountains. Experience the crackling cold, snow and majestic Northern Lights at Valhall. This is an adventure you will long remember.
We recommend a round-trip in the local boat MS Vågsfjord to the island kingdom off the Harstad coast, try cross-country skiing in the floodlit trails in Folkeparken or downhill skiing on the slopes at Sollia just outside the city. What about a dip or sauna at the fantastic Grottebadetwater park, which is built in the mountain below the city?
